Yurts- Nantahala River Gorge, NC (866) 319-8870 (Across Hwy 19/74 from rafting center) Falling Waters is located on 22 mountain acres with a waterfall, trails and scenic vistas. A multitude of activities including rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and gem mining are available in the area. Or, if you enjoy relaxing, enjoy the hot tub and just the right setting to simply enjoy the outdoors. Sorry, but no pets are allowed.
The "Yurt Village" opened in early summer '98. Travelers to the Pacific Northwest may be familiar with these lavish dome structures that offer a "Ritz Carlton" style wilderness experience. The exposed framing and heavy-duty canvas shell provide a soft blend with the natural surroundings. The comforts inside include a canopied or 4-poster bed and a sitting area with a futon sofa bed, CD/AM/FM player, small refrigerator, and coffee maker. Shared but private showers and restrooms are available in a separate building adjacent to your Yurt.
