Guide School 2010 (May 12-16)
Come and join us for 5 days of raft guide training on the Chattooga, Nantahala and Ocoee Rivers. The course cost covers meals, boarding, classroom materials and transportation to the rivers where we will be training. You have the opportunity to meet and interview with each of Wildwater's Management Team and experience the variety of whitewater and unique character of each of Wildwater's Rafting Centers. While we do not guarantee employment upon completion of the course, we will endeavor to place everyone with Wildwater or will assist each Guide School candidate in placement with another rafting company.
We start each day with classroom instruction, followed by on-water training. After dinner there is additional classroom training, so expect long days. Along with meeting new people, this dynamic learning experience will give you basic whitewater and rescue skills, communication skills and an understanding of Guest services in the whitewater industry.
Topics covered: Understanding whitewater, paddling strokes, raft maneuvering, river signals, communication with crews, Guest services, minimizing risks, emergency procedures and river rescue.

Dates: May 19-20 & May 25-26 Cost: $200
Have to attend all 4 days, 8am- 5pm with some evening sessions. Maximum 15 Students
