Types of River Boats Used for Our Trips

Chattooga River- On the Chattooga River, Wildwater uses 3-6 person rafts that range from 10' - 14' long. Most rafts on the Chattooga are self-bailing, but some are what we call bucket-boats. The size of raft that we use for our trips on the Chattooga is dependent on the water level. As water levels drop, Wildwater starts using smaller boats with fewer people per raft. The Section III and Mini trips, at lower water levels, also have the option to take an inflatable kayak. The Chattooga also uses 15' canoes for canoe clinics, 10' Wave Sport & Liquid Logic kayaks for our kayak clinics and seakayaks for our Lake Tugaloo Touring trip.

Ocoee River- Wildwater's Ocoee trips use 14', 6-person, self-bailing rafts. Because the river is dam released, our fleet on the Ocoee remains the same for every trip.

Nantahala River- The Nantahala has the most varied fleet of all of Wildwater's river locations. The Fully Guided trips use 4-6 person rafts that are self-bailing and approx. 12' in length. These same rafts are also used for our rental fleet. Also available at the Nantahala are single and double inflatable kayaks.

Pigeon River- The Pigeon River trips use 13' rafts that carry 5-7 people and are self-bailing.

* For all rafting trips the number of people per boat can fluctuate as we try to accomodate groups and group sizes. Smaller groups will be combined with other groups to fill the raft. Groups are divided into rafts by the trip leaders at the time of the trip, not when you make your reservation..
