Join our skilled and knowledgeable local guides by following in the steps of the early explorers, visiting the back roads of the region and learning more about this beautiful region directly from North Carolina locals. Rails & Trails Enjoy this 7 hour trip combining the Great Smoky Mountains Railroads trip with the Waterfall Jeep® tour. You'll begin your trip in Bryson City, NC, with a 2 hour railroad excursion over Fontana Lake and into the Nantahala Gorge. As you travel on the train, watch paddlers challenge the rapids. At the top-of-the-line disembark from the train and climb aboard our customized Jeep® for a personal exploration up the mountain, past waterfalls and lakes, up to the Appalachian Trail and back down along Winding Stairs Rd, an old stagecoach route. Waterfall Tour This 2-hour tour takes you on a personal exploration up the mountain to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Nantahala area. Travel past beautiful lakes and up to the Appalachian Trail. |
| Minimum Weight: | 40 lbs.- kids 40-80 lbs. are required to sit in the front passenger seat with the airbag disengaged using a child booster seat. Children 80 lbs. or older sit in the back using a lap seat belt. If there is more than one child in the 40-80 lb. range, the second child will sit in the back using a lap belt. |

We will be traveling in a Jeep® Wrangler converted vehicle, with an extended rear to accommodate 5 passengers and a plexiglass canopy over the roof. We recommend adventurers bring: jacket, hat, sunglasses, binoculars, camera, and wear comfortable shoes for walking and weather appropriate clothing. Wildwater will provide a rain poncho, water and snack. We also carry insect repellent, a first aid kit and a small cooler along with interpretive books with maps and plant ID pictures.
Trip minimum: 2 people, Trip maximum: 6 people.
We recommend if riders experience motion sickness, that they prepare in advance with the appropriate medication.

We travel rain or shine and have the option to cancel due to incement weather or mechanical failures. Wildwater is permitted by the US Forest Service.
