Dear Friend,
The Chauga River House is a private home located on the shoals of the Chauga
River and is open to guests of Wildwater Ltd. Breakfast will be
Scandinavian-style self-serve. A variety of juices and milk are in the
refrigerator. Breads, pastries, cereals, and fruits are on the tables. The
dining room is open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
A picnic area and grill are available to guests on the grounds. Kitchen facilities are not available for use by guests except during breakfast hours. Please plan ahead for food preparation and necessary utensils, as the kitchen is not available for this. Coolers should be left on the back porch. Please do not use the refrigerator to ft" ice chests.
In deference to our good neighbors, guests, and caretakers, we request that outside activities conclude at sunset, and that indoor activities after 11:00 p.m. be confined to quiet pastimes such as watching cable TV, playing cards, or reading. We also ask that you respect the property rights of our neighbors by confining your activities to our property.
A few other reminders:
1. Your keys will be left in a woven basket near the glass doors on the side porch on the right side of the house. They will be in an envelope with your name and room number(s) on the front.
2. Please sign the guest register when you arrive.
3. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 10:00 a.m. If you are going on a river trip the day of your departure, please pack prior to your leaving. There are change facilities and hot showers at Wildwater Ltd. for your post-trip convenience.
4. Please lock your room when you leave. Since the house may not be supervised at all times, we urge you to take any valuables with you when you leave.
5. We request that you not smoke in the bedrooms, as some persons with allergies might suffer from smoke residues.
6. Please park in such a manner to allow space for others and not to block others.
7. Dial 911 for emergencies. The number at the River House is (864) 647-9148.
8. Please hang your keys above the desk beside the glass door before you leave.

Group Information
Groups wishing use for their group only may rent all five
bedrooms of the River House. A $50.00 security deposit may be required. Inquire
at the Reservation Center. (864) 647-9587
The Chauga River House is located on the scenic Chauga River approximately 50 miles South west of Greenville, SC, and 105 miles northwest of Atlanta, GA.
From the South, follow I-85 to the SC border, then take scenic Highway 11 (The Cherokee Foothills Trail) and Highway 24 Northwest for 12 miles to Westminster, SC. Follow US 76 West for 4.1 miles. Just past the Chau-Ram County Park, turn right (North) at the Calvary Church of God to Cobbs Bridge Road. Proceed on this road for 3.5 miles. After you cross the Chauga River on an old iron bridge, the River House is the first building on your left.
From the East and Northeast, leave I-85
just South of Greenville, Exit 40. Travel West on Route 153 to Easley, then
take Highway 123 South to Westminster, SC. Follow
US 76 West from Westminster for 4.1 miles. Just past the Chau-Ram County Park,
turn right (North) at the Calvary Church of God on Cobbs Bridge Road. Proceed
on this road for 3.5 miles. After you cross the Chauga River on an old iron
bridge, the River House is the first house on your left.
From the West, take US 76 East from Clayton, GA. Cross the Chattooga River at the Georgia-South Carolina border. Continue to Long Creek, SC. From Long Creek continue on US 76 for 5.5 miles. You will a small country store and some fish ponds on the left. Turn left just past the fish ponds onto Cobbs Bridge Road. Follow this road for just over 2 miles to the Chauga River House. The River House is on the right just before crossing the old iron bridge.
