Pigeon River Adventure Center
Participate in all the outdoor activities at one location! Whitewater rafting, zipline canopy tour over the Pigeon River, Jeep® Tours and the Pigeon River Dog House Restaurant with gourmet hot dogs, BBQ and ice cream all located on the Wildwater Pigeon Adventure Center property.
The Pigeon River's close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge, Maggie Valley and Asheville provides an accessible, exciting trip for the entire family.
On the Upper Pigeon, five miles of class III rapids provide a fun, fast-paced whitewater run through rapids named Powerhouse, Big Rock, Roller Coaster, Lost Guide, and Chubbie Checker. The Lower Pigeon offer playful, mild and fun rapids. It's the perfect, easy trip for young families and the young at heart. Season: March through Labor Day. Pigeon River Release days are Tuesday through Thursday plus Saturday.

Pigeon River Canopy Tours
Minimum age 10 or weight must be between 70 lbs. and 250 lbs.
The River Ziplines Tour has 7 zips including 2 zips across the Pigeon River. The Waterfall Gorge Canopy Tour is now open, 12 zips, 4 bridges, Smoky Mountain Creek gorge exposing a lush forest of ferns, wildflowers, towering trees, rock cliffs,cascading waterfalls, and moss covered bolder gardens. The last zip for both tours is 1200' long and 120' high!
Upper Pigeon
Minimum age 8 or minimum weight 70 lbs.
The Upper Pigeon carves a gorge through the Great Smoky Mountains. Rafters are immediately confronted with fast moving water and standing waves. Great trip for families. 2 hours, 1 1/2 hours on the river, fully guided. Class II- IV rapids create five miles of pure fun and excitement. Fully Guided.
Lower Pigeon
Minimum age 4
Fully guided trips on the lower section of the Pigeon are a great introduction to whitewater fun for anyone from four years to senior. The lazy rapids will challenge those with no whitewater experience while showing off breathtaking views of the Smokies. 2 hours, 1 1/2 hours on the river. A great float trip and introduction for anyone ages 4-84.
NOTE: Some outfitters only raft 1/3 or 1/2 of the Lower Pigeon. Wildwater includes the complete 5 mile stretch and all the fun rapids! Fully Guided.
Pigeon Climbing Wall
Minimum age 6
Try out the 40' climbing wall while at the Pigeon River Adventure Center. Our trained staff will help all participants with the safety gear and will assist your climb with words of encouragement. Families, church groups, and individuals ages 6-76 will enjoy this new activity. Call our Gatlinburg office at 865-436-3829 for reservations.
Jeep® Tours
40 lbs. and greater.
Ride the roads that the moonshiners once traveled. We’ll drive along Big Creek, enjoy majestic waterfalls, and rise to the mountain ridges overlooking the National Park and past famed Rocky Top Mountain. The tour will take you back through time to visit an Appalachia you’ve only heard of from books or movies. Fully Guided.
