Chattooga River Overnighter
Chattooga River Section III/IV Camping Trip
Chattooga Overnighters offer a trip for those wanting the ultimate 2-day challenge.
The first day, on Section III, will be slower paced and afford plenty of opportunities for relaxing and swimming. At the end of Section III, your personal gear will be waiting at our campsite. Guests are encouraged to swim, hike or fish (SC or GA fishing license required) after camp is set. A steak dinner will be prepared at camp. After bacon and eggs for breakfast the next morning, camp will be struck and your personal gear packed for transportation back to the Wildwater Rafting Center. You will then meet on the beach with other guests taking Wildwater Ltd.'s Section IV trip, the steepest section of river currently being run on a commercial basis in the Southeast. This trip is more challenging than the first day, but there are still opportunities to relax and stretch your legs. A rest stop at sixty foot Long Creek Falls, lunch and swimming at Possum Creek, and a leisurely boat tow across Lake Tugaloo to the take-out end your 2-day journey. |
